Abouty PGY2 (Resident Medical Officer Year 1) positions at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health
Since 2008 all PGY2 positions have been appointed to Pre-vocational Training Networks, which have been established by IMET. Hornsby Ku-ring-gai, and Mona Vale & Manly Hospitals constitute Network No 6 within Northern Sydney and Central Coast Area Health. Each PGY2 can expect to rotate through one or more of the network hospitals and will have the opportunity to preference the rotations they wish to do. Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital offers terms in General Practice, Emergency, Paediatrics, O&G, ICU, Psychiatry, Aged Care, Rehabilitation Medicine, General Medicine and General Surgery. There is also the opportunity to have a rotation to Westmead Children’s Hospital. Mona Vale Hospital offers terms in General Medicine, General Surgery, Emergency, Rehab Medicine and Orthopaedics. Manly Hospital offers terms in General Medicine, General Surgery, ICU, Emergency and Stroke/Neuro. Each hospital within the network has an active JMO Management Unit whose main responsibility is to act as Human Resource support to the JMOs employed or rotated at the facility. The JMO Manager at each facility is more than happy to answer any enquires you have in relation to your working conditions.
